The Clinton State Agency Inc. was started in the 1950's by the Steen family. Joe Seifert was hired in June of 1991 to manage and operate the agency for Sevrin Steen. In May of 2008, Melisa Benson was hired as an agent and secretary for the agency. In September of 2012, Joe Seifert purchased the Agency from Sevrin Steen and changed the name to Clinton State Agency, LLC. In January of 2016, Melisa Benson became a part owner in the agency. Melisa Benson has over fifteen years as an active agent. The Clinton State Agency, LLC writes independently for the following lines of insurance: Auto, Home, Life, Health, Hail, Crop, and Farm insurance.
John Stolpman
John graduated from Bellingham High School in 1970, and then enlisted in the Army for three years, where he spent two and a half years in Germany. In 1973, he started working at Stolpman Insurance Agency and became the owner in 1986. John obtained his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 1977. He is licensed in Property, Casualty, Health and Life insurance lines. (in Minnesota, South Dakota, and North Dakota) He is also a Notary Public.
Melisa Benson
Melisa Benson has been licensed in MN since 1994. She has previously worked at insurance offices in Moorhead and Graceville. She joined Clinton State Agency in 2008 as an agent. She is licensed in MN for Property, Casualty, Life, and Health. Melisa holds the Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation. She is now part owner of Clinton State Agency, LLC in Clinton, MN.
Beth Gillespie
Beth grew up outside of Boyd, MN. She graduated from Dawson Boyd High School then went on to graduate from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing. She is married to Chad and they have 3 children. She joined Clinton State Agency in July of 2020 and is licensed for Property and Casualty insurance in Minnesota.
